Philippines Explores Ratification of ILO Work in Fishing Convention

In Manila, a recent meeting discussed the Philippines' potential ratification of the ILO Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188). The Institute of Labor Studies (ILS) presented a gap analysis showing that while some legislative gaps remain, existing laws largely align with the Convention’s requirements. The analysis suggested moving towards ratification while progressively implementing relevant provisions and ensuring substantial compliance with national legislation.
