Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, responsible for Labour & Employment and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, unveiled a Handbook on the Convergence of different organizations under the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The handbook presents Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) designed to facilitate collaboration among various sectors at the grassroots level. In total, there are four SOPs outlined in the handbook which deal with aspects such as Updation of Digital Map of Offices of the Ministry-Field level Directory, Monthly Cross-functional Team Meeting at each State or UT, Tours by the Officers of Ministry/Bureau Heads and for Outreach Activities for Organized and Unorganized Workers. It aims to promote information sharing, address worker grievances, and raise awareness about the services offered by the Ministry and its affiliated organizations.
Shri Bhupender Yadav stressed the importance of convergence, not only among different Ministries and Departments of the Government of India but also within the Ministry of Labour & Employment and its affiliated organizations. He emphasized the significance of integrating various entities involved in labor and employment matters into a cohesive framework to enhance the welfare of workers nationwide. The Minister underscored that convergence within the Ministry involves bringing together diverse organizations, agencies, and departments dealing with labor-related issues under a unified structure. This integrated approach is crucial for ensuring the efficient delivery of services and benefits to both employers and employees. He also highlighted key aspects of convergence such as optimizing services, adopting a holistic approach, implementing policies effectively, improving labor market information, and leveraging technology, which can significantly impact the labor and employment sector.
