Ministry of Labour and Employment Organizes Fourth Regional Meeting with Eastern States at Bhubaneswar, Odisha

 The Ministry of Labour & Employment convened its fourth regional meeting with the eastern states in Bhubaneswar. Secretary Sumita Dawra presided over the meeting. The agenda items for the meeting were worker welfare, labour reforms, and creating jobs. Dawra highlighted the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) initiative, which will benefit MSMEs and major firms with an outlay of Rs 1,07,000 crores. In order to encourage welfare, investments, and job creation, labour changes were explored. These included the unification of 29 laws into four Labour Codes. States were asked to make sure that their proposed regulations complied with the CLC codes. The discussion underlined the eShram portal's significance in providing social protection to over 30 crore unorganized workers and emphasized data-driven planning for BoCW workers via the MIS site.
