Indian nurse Kirankumar Rathod won a significant legal victory against Clinica Private Healthcare Ltd, a British care company, after being dismissed without receiving work or wages. Clinica hired Rathod in May 2023 under a visa scheme for overseas workers but failed to provide him with any work, leaving him in financial distress. After threatening legal action, Rathod was sacked in November 2023. An employment judge ordered Clinica to pay him nearly £17,000 in unpaid wages and continue paying until his unfair dismissal claim is resolved. Legal experts called the ruling rare and expected Rathod to win his case at the Central London Employment Tribunal. This case could encourage other migrant workers to pursue similar claims. |
