Thirty Muslim sports coaches in Gujarat, employed by various sports education government institutions, were abruptly terminated from their positions. The coaches, qualified in training athletes in various sports, received termination calls and emails without explanation. Despite their successful track records and positive feedback from institutions, their contracts were terminated, leaving them perplexed and without jobs. The discriminatory nature of the terminations was evident, as all terminated coaches were Muslim. Efforts to seek clarification from company officials and government authorities have been met with silence, exacerbating the coaches' frustration and sense of injustice. Despite receiving advance salaries, the coaches feel unfairly treated and voice concerns about future employment prospects and discrimination based on their religious identity. The lack of response from authorities underscores the challenges faced by marginalized communities in accessing justice and fair treatment in the workforce. |
