Nearly 97,640 Provident Fund members and pensioners under the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995, were expected to benefit from pension on higher wages (PoWH). This figure included 8,401 individuals who received pension payment orders (PPO) and 89,235 who were issued demand notices. The demand notices were sent only to those found eligible for PoWH, in compliance with the Supreme Court’s November 2022 judgment. Prospective beneficiaries were required to transfer their share of arrears to qualify for the higher pension. The initiative aimed to implement the court's ruling and ensure that eligible pensioners received the appropriate benefits based on their higher wages during employment. |
