Uploading of Details And Documents On The Website By Contractors And Principal Employers Under CLRA Made Non-Mandatory

Source:

Contractors using contract labor were obliged to post information about the type of worker, salaries, and statutory records on their official website in accordance with previous directives from the Office of the Commissioner (Labour), Government of the NCT of Delhi. If the contractor does not have a website of his own, the major employer had to submit it to his website before the contractor could upload it. Furthermore, the Principal Employer/Contractor is obligated to send physical copies of all necessary documentation to the relevant registering/licensing official.

In light of the over-burdening effect such compliance requirements were having on the employers and their businesses, and to further the interests of the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ policy, the Government of NCT of Delhi has made the aforesaid compliance requirements to be not mandatory. Further, it was ordered that every registering/licensing officer shall be examining the process of registration or licensing of the applications in accordance with the Contract Labour (Regulation &Abolition) Act, 1970 and the rules formulated thereunder.
