The state government of Odisha through its notification dated October 4, 2023, has revised the minimum wages of employees working in 89 scheduled employments. The labour commissioner has notified that in addition to the minimum wage rates, the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) of Rs. 7 per day shall be paid to the unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled categories of employees working in the scheduled employments, the list of which is attached in the notification.

The revised rate of minimum wages including the VDA is as follows:
·     Unskilled workers: INR 352 (Rupees Three Hundred and Fifty-Two)
·     Semiskilled workers: INR 392 (Rupees Three Hundred and Ninety-Two)
·     Skilled workers: INR 442 (Rupees Four Hundred and Forty-Two)
·     Highly skilled workers: INR 502 (Rupees Five Hundred and Two)
