Labourer dies after being buried under pipeline at refinery

A tragic incident occurred at the Pachpadra refinery in Balotra district, where a labourer named Nasir Khan died after being buried under a pipeline. The accident led to protests by Khan’s family and villagers, who blocked the refinery’s main gate and damaged vehicles. The situation was resolved after discussions with the administration and company officials, resulting in an agreement to pay Rs 20 lakh compensation, provide government scheme benefits, and offer a job to a family member. MP Ummedaram Beniwal criticized the refinery’s safety management and demanded action against responsible officers.
