The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) through its office letter dated November 13, 2023 has ordered the extension of the portability in service delivery of ESIC on a pan India basis by making it accessible for the Insured Person (IP) and beneficiaries to visit any hospital/dispensary across India for seeking consultation and issuance of medicines only under the Dhanwantri module, despite them being allotted a different dispensary on the dispensary card. In the instances where a patient is suffering from a chronic disease, medicines may be issued up to 3 months as and when required. Additionally, the regional directors may take further necessary action which they deem fit for the effective implementation of the aforementioned order.
