Air India Express cabin crew call off strike after mediation

Writer: samyaknagar2704samyaknagar2704

Following a mediation by the Chief Labour Commissioner (CLC) on May 9, 2024, the Air India airline agreed to reinstate 25 terminated employees, and the Air India Express cabin crew decided to end their strike. Because of the crew's "sick" reports since May 6, 85 flights had to be cancelled. Alleged discrimination following the merger with AirAsia India and the elimination of specific allowances was the cause of the protest. The airline promised that these problems will be fixed, and on May 28, there will be another CLC meeting. Twenty of Air India Express's routes saw flights during the strike. The crew voiced concerns about unfair contractual terms and preferential treatment for previous employees of AirAsia India.
